How long will my order take to arrive?
Because our studio is in a rural area we save on our environmental impact by only driving in to town once a week. So, turn around time for items we have in stock is 3-7 business days within Australia, and 10-25 business days for most capital cities around the world. For more info, just message or email us. 
* PLEASE NOTE Evie is away as part of an Artist in Residence in Melbourne until March 24th all orders will be made (or posted for pre-made items) on March 25th.

What about for Pre-Orders and Custom-mades?
For pre-orders it's 1-2 weeks to make and deliver the garments for orders within Australia, 4-6 weeks for orders to capital cities in the U.S. and the UK, and 5-7 weeks for all other towns and countries around the world.

You don't have my size in stock, can you make my size?
We sure can! We offer a base size range at the moment as these are the sizes of our fit-models. It's really important to us to get a great fit in all the garments we make, as clothes that fit well look amazing and will be worn and loved for longer = better for the environment, and we love that!
But we also want people of all shapes and sizes to be able to get clothes they love in their size, so if your size isn't on our list yet, send us an email (sales@genkstasy.com) with the item you love and the size you're looking for/your measurements, and we'll work with you to make your perfect piece.

Why are some CUSTOM options the same price as the pre-made pieces, and others a different price?
With some of our patterns we've already graded, or made them, in a wide range of sizes, the price difference with some custom options is to cover part of the cost of grading the pattern up or down to a different size. This can take between 2-5 hours per size depending on the complexity of the pattern, but we don't charge for the whole cost to any one person as we want to keep custom pieces as accessible as possible, to as many folk as possible.

How/Where do I add my requests for style adjustments?
If you just need minor adjustments (eg: a hem adjustment, or a between-size adjustment) you can put your requests in the "Special instructions for seller" box when you check out. Some adjustments may need some extra info (eg: arm/leg length measurements if you want your sleeves/hems shorter) if that's the case our head designer Evie will contact you by email to go through the changes you'd like, and how to take the measurements we'll need. For real-time processing you can give us a call, or text, on 0431989301 - remember we are rural, so if you can't get through first try please leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we get in the reception zone!

My fave piece is sold out! Can you make another for me?
Some items we make from vintage or end-of-roll fabrics, or limited edition prints, so once they're sold out, that's it. But with some pieces there's hope yet! So send us a message to see what we have available for you.

What's your exchange policy?
We want you to love your Genkstasy pieces, so yes, if you've ordered a pre-made piece and the fit isn't right you can definitely exchange it for another size. Please let us know if the fit isn't right as soon as you've recieved the garment, and return to us within 7 days by registered post. 
If you've decided the style of the garment isn't for you, we're happy to do a swap for another piece, or give you a store credit - which can be used by you, or you can gift it to a friend.
With custom-made pieces we aren't able to offer exchanges or refunds, but if for any reason you aren't happy with your custom piece, please get in touch via the details below and we'll do everything we can to get you feeling great in your Genstasy gear!

What is End-of-Roll?
Why do we use End-of-Roll fabrics, and what does it mean for your garments? 

Basically, End-of-Roll fabric is the last of it's kind, it's often the last of a big order that a factory made, or a custom order that a design house created but didn't use as much of as they'd planned.

For a long time, companies would claim their losses and just throw these excess fabrics away. With the amount of work, water and material that goes into making fabrics this was a deeply flawed practise!
But thanks to films like The True Cost (we HIGHLY recommend watching this film if you haven't!) and growing consumer awareness, these fabrics are now made available to smaller labels like us, giving us access to high quality and unique fabrics, and is just one of the ways we reduce our impact on the environment. 
All of our fabrics are chosen consciously and for us this means considering not just how luxurious they feel, how fab the colours are, but also their impact on humans, animals, and the environment, from raw fibre to finished textile, and on into your wardrobe and washing machine too.

For future collections we're looking into Hemp and new tech fabrics, and as we grow we know we'll have more options for researching and developing our own ethical and sustainable fabrics. We're excited to share this journey with you and thank you so much for supporting us as we do.
Together we're going to make a better world. 

*Note: in some collections we use end-of-roll synthetic blends. For a while we avoided these because synthetics won't break down in the environment like natural fabrics do, and can sometimes shed particles of plastic through the wash. So, why did we decide to use them? We figured if they would otherwise be going straight to landfill, it's better to add another step to their journey, and in the meantime add joyful stories to the fabrics' life. All our water waste from studio washing is filtered through sand, and then digested by mycelium, but if you live in the city you can prevent your synthetics from dropping micro-plastics by using a tight-weave garment care bag (a rubber band holding a thick pillow case closed will do the trick if you aren't able to invest in the specially designed ones yet).

How to properly dispose of used clothing?
When you're done with an item of clothing, share the love and pass it on to someone who'll love it. If it gets a mark or a tear in it, wash or repair it as soon as you can, that way when you've had enough of it someone else can get great wear out of it too. With good quality items you can donate them to charity (don't donate damaged or dirty items as that costs the charity to dispose of or clean and defeats the main purpose of donation).

Totally worn items made from natural fibres can be used as rags, then put in the compost to turn back into the soil that grew them.

Don't burn your wasteespecially not anything with any element of plastic or synthetic content, it will release toxic gases as it burns. Unfortunately our society hasn't caught up with the waste we've been creating and is only just finding ways to dispose of synthetic fabrics (sadly not broadly available in Australia, but we'll keep you posted as things change). For now, just use the fabric as long as you possibly can, re-work and re-purpose it, and when it's definitely time to go, send it to the tip.

Why aren't you Ethical Clothing Australia certified? Good question! Unfortunately to be assessed for these types of certifications you have to have permanent, or permanent part-time employees, and our business is too small for that just yet - at the moment it's just Evie doing all the designing, creating, making, sewing etc with occasional sewing help from the wonderful Ann who sets her own piece-prices so she can sew gently around her grandy schedule.
